Paper Garden, is the story of Isabelle Blythe. Through trial and error, she develops a serum that, when added to paper pulp, alters the material properties of the homemade paper in a magical and mysterious way. Once this new paper is cut into shapes, it becomes alive.
My puppet won Best Non-Animation at the OCAD U Midway Animation Fair.
Initial Sketches and World Building

World building sketches: Imagining the world in which the character lives. Creating different anthropomorphic designs and playing with shapes and form. Trying to understand how I want the character to move to better inform how to create the puppet.
Creation and Fabrication

Puppet fabrication: made the skeleton base out of wire, wood and polymer clay. Sculpted the body out of upholstery foam and covered everything in white nylon. The costume was hand sewn together.
